Grit and Fire Consulting is a solo, Black-led firm grounded in cultural clarity, environmental justice, and strategic influence. We specialize in messaging, policy, and advocacy support for progressive candidates, coalitions, and values-aligned organizations across Arizona.
Founder Murphy Bannerman has supported statewide coalitions, issue campaigns, and advocacy organizations—from BIPOC-led grassroots groups to moderate statewide efforts for nearly a decade.
Through previous work with firms like Prickly Pear Consulting and clients like Honest Arizona, Arizonans for a Clean Economy, and Chispa Arizona, Grit and Fire brings a nuanced, adaptable approach to strategy—capable of navigating tough issues, diverse audiences, and political complexity with confidence.
We offer both short-term project work and deeper engagements—built on relationship, responsiveness, and results.
I offer sliding scale pricing for candidate communications support based on campaign size and resources on a limited basis. This allows me to support a range of values-aligned leaders and organizations. Rates are transparent and scoped accordingly.
